lyrics
Candelabras, wicks aflame
Is bound to a soul
Never escaping the destined consumption
A revolution, the intention perpetual despite the sovereigns flames
Scrolls, etchings, scriptures all tell
The tale of those who fought to remain in this hell
What they thought was a change in fate
Was really their deaths coming
Fortunate, corruption is imminent
Follow the arcane sigils
To the curse, that must corrupt your soul
Arcane sigils, burned in you
More than you through this light
What may seem like a new beginning
It's really just a new meaning
Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
A beautiful journey from start to finish, with perfectly placed moments of gentility amidst the rhythmic intrigue and blast beats of their guest drummer. jsteadmanfan
Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
