lyrics
Writing is on the walls
Follow the dark sigils glowing before
Unknown symbols, a haunting vision from the past moonlight
Enter the dark cave of light
Shed your fears for what appears
If you're not afraid, they'll show you the way
An unearthly glow, I must converge
An unearthly glow, I must converge
Tighten your grip on the candlestick
Touch the dripping walls of blood and salt
Hidden crystal caverns consumed by fractals of mist
Writing is on the walls
Follow the dark sigils glowing before
Unknown symbols, a haunting vision from the past moonlight
Pray for the altar, these ritualistic patterns
Blinded by the pillar
I am the light, I am the curse
I am the light, I am the curse
I am the light, I am the curse
The green light beams
Fading into different realms
All I know is that this light
Carries all I've seen in my mind
Steps away, pulled in by its veneration
Aura of light, nothing these eyes have seen before
Nothing these eyes have seen before
For now I have been blessed by thee
Writing is on the walls
Enter the dark cave of light
Shed your fears for what appears
If you're not afraid, they'll show you the way
Californian quartet defining themselves as Sci-Fi black metal, maybe due to cosmic and interstellar topics, sounding like blackened death metal too ("The Maw"). It's a well-balanced melodic black metal album, with some fast-paced tracks and nice rhythmic transitions reminding me of Swiss band Celtic Frost (e.g. Terminal Odyssey). In other words not overly dominated by drum speed and also not sounding as extreme or as raw as some BM can be. sachavonkarl74
A beautiful journey from start to finish, with perfectly placed moments of gentility amidst the rhythmic intrigue and blast beats of their guest drummer. jsteadmanfan
Heaviest thing I’ve heard all year along with Altarage. Okay I’ve been listening to this record for the past two weeks and it just gets better and better. Dissonant grooves galore Jacob Ballance
